.jack's cosmic dogs.

.we were listening
to a national talk radio station
over the fourth of july
and
a guy from indiana
called in and said
the best hot dog
he had ever had was
by folly beach.

.so obviously
we had to try it.

we had the
cosmic dog,
create your own dog,
and
orbit city dog.

.along with
some
draft mugs o'
rootbeer.

.which was
extremely
delish.

.it reminded us of
and made us miss

.mellow mushroom.

.we previously
told you about our
experience at
mellow mushroom downtown.

.this time we tried out

.since husband and me
enjoyed the buffalo chicken
so much last time
we were skeptical about
trying a different type.

.but we did.

.atleast half way.

.we tried the
funky q chicken on
the other half.

.and of course
mellow mushroom
wouldn't be complete
without the spinach dip.

.we even had
the tables around
us drooling over it
so much so that
three of them
ordered it
themselves.

.the biggest
differences.

the artwork
is more modern and pop
at avondale.

.the atmosphere at
the downtown location
is more homey.

.the avondale
location is bigger.

.the downtown
location is quieter.

.taco boy.

downtown location.

.we hit up
taco boy
for an afternoon lunch.

.it was packed.

.we arrived just
before the crowd
around 12:30 pm.

we tried the
salsa trio,
grilled chicken taco,
al pastor taco,
carnitas norteno taco,
and the
tempura shrimp taco.

.all were fabulous
and
spicy.

.they also have
a folly beach location.

.ritas.

.we went out
for dessert
in north charleston.

.frozen custard
anyone?.

hit just the spot.

.we had the
cookies and cream
cream ice.

.next time we
will try the frozen custard.

.south of philly.

.could it be a little
taste of true
philly in chucktown?.

.yes it's true.

.it's known for it's pizza
but we tried the
and

.both were phenomenal.

.coming from someone
who has had
a philly in philly
it's the closest
we have found thus
far in charleston.

.kiawah island.

.kiawah island.
.one of the
nicest beaches
we've ever visited.

.upsides.
.family beach.
.plenty of space.
.beautiful boardwalk.
.shower space.
.quiet.

.downsides.
.have to pay to enter.
.cost $7 per car.
.long walk to beach on hot sand.
.expensive area with
very few food options.
